SAN FRANCISCO – The Yotes guaranteed themselves at least a split of the series at San Francisco State by winning game one Saturday 3-0 before falling in game two 2-4
In game one
Jake Borst drove in the first two runs with singles and
Deshawn Johnson drove in the final run in the seventh with a single. Borst had three hits and
Kyle Csakan had two, including a double.
Austyn Coleman,
Scott Kato, and
Oscar Rauda were fantastic scattering seven hits and no runs.
In game two, the Yotes made it 2-3 in the fifth, but could not score anymore past that point.
Giovanni Del Negro and
Riley Parker each had two hits.
"
Austyn Coleman pitched lights out for us in game one for his first start of the year giving us six innings," head coach
Mike Nadeau said. "
Scott Kato and
Oscar Rauda did a great job closing it out.
Jake Borst 3-5 was very big in the win. Game two was a typical seven inning game. Both sides pitched great but SFSU got a couple runs early and we were not able to get it back. We played well and will do our best tomorrow to come back and get the series."
The Yotes will look to take the series win tomorrow for the final game at 11 am live on the CCAANetwork.com.
