SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Yotes traveled to San Marcos to play their doubleheader of the series against Cal St. San Marcos. The Yotes could not keep pace with the Cougars as Cal St. San Marcos now leads the series, 3-0.
In the first game, CSUSB's lead pitcher was
Austyn Coleman who pitched for six innings collecting six strikeouts on the game. The biggest hit of the game was by
Deshawn Johnson who connected for a homerun in the ninth inning.
Daryl Ruiz collected two hits and two RBI's on the game.
Brandon Galindo connected for three hits on the game. The Yotes collected nine hits against the Cougars 14 hits. Cal St. San Marcos won the first game, 6-4.
The second game lead pitcher was
Andres Quinones who pitched for the entire game collecting two strikeouts. It would be slow at bat for both teams as the Yotes and the Cougars connected on four hits each for the entire game.
Brandon Galindo has the biggest hit of the second game as he collected two hits, one of which was a triple. Cal St. San Marcos won the second game, 2-0.
"Not a great day for us offensively" said coach
Mike Nadeau. "Cal St. San Marcos pitched really well and kept our bats in check. Quinones pitched a gem, but we could not support him offensively. We will get back after it tomorrow."
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Sunday, March 20
th with first pitch at 12 p.m. in San Marcos as they close the series against Cal St. San Marcos. Streaming is available on the ccaanetwork.com.
