CARSON, Calif. – After splitting the first day of the series against the Toros the Yotes came up short against Cal St. Dominguez Hills. The Toros ran away with two victories, winning the series against the Yotes, 3-1.
In game one the leading pitcher for CSUSB was
Samantha Vargas who collected one strike out on the game.
Alyssa Martinez hit a homerun in the third inning for a two RBI. The Yotes were unable to connect with the ball and only collected two hits on the game. CSUSB was downed by the Toros, 12-3.
The second game
Brooklyn Blackmon was the lead pitcher for the Yotes. There were three pitching changes for this game as
Ashley Martinez,
Samantha Vargas, and
Sofia Gombos all took a shot at Cal St. Dominguez Hills. Gombos collected the sole Yotes strike out of the game. CSUSB collected six hits in the second game and seven assists. The Toros still ran away with the win, 9-1.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader on Friday, March 18
