SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Yotes traveled to the Golden City to take on the San Francisco State Gators. CSUSB had a big defensive second quarter but weren't able to catch the Gators. The Yotes fell to San Francisco State, 73-63.
CSUSB collected 50 rebounds, 16 of them were offensive rebounds leading to 13 second chance points on the game. The Yotes moved the ball for 16 assists and scored 23 bench points. CSUSB also scored 28 of their points in the paint and 10 points on fast breaks.
"We couldn't execute with defending the ball and making free throws" said coach
Casandra Renno. "We fought hard to the very last horn of the night. I can't wait to see our continued fight on Saturday."
Leading the Yotes in points was
Mia Dufresne who collected CSUSB career high 21 points, and had nine rebounds and two assists on the game.
Nikki Mayoral added 11 points, four rebounds, and one assist. Mayoral connected on three of six shots from beyond the arch, shooting 50 percent from the three-point line.
Tatianna Russell collected a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and had two assists on the game!
CSUSB is scheduled to play their season closer on Saturday, February 26
