SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Yotes hosted the Occidental College Tigers on Fiscalini Field for a single game. This was the first time the teams have met, and it will not be easily forgotten as CSUSB outrun the Tigers, 19-5.
Leading pitcher for the Yotes was
Nate Mendoza who collected three strikeouts in the two innings that he pitched. Coming in for Mendoza was
Scott Kato who also struck out three players.
CSUSB scored a big first inning, bringing home five Yotes for five RBIs on the inning. CSUSB's defense kept the Tigers scoreless in the first four innings. Leading the Yotes in hits was
Derek Bogh who collected four hits, three RBIs, and one double.
Deshawn Johnson collected three hits one of which was a double.
The biggest hit of the night by
Riley Parker who hit a double to left field bringing home
Derek Bogh,
Garrett Macias, and
Daryl Ruiz for three RBI's.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Friday, February 25
