SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Heading into the game the Yotes held an overall record against Cal Poly Humboldt of 8-17. The Lumberjacks controlled the first half of the game, but CSUSB came roaring back to take the win in the final minutes of the game, 59-56.
The Yotes collected 43 points and 10 second chance points. CSUSB scored 36 points from the paint, more than half of their final score. The Yotes defense was the element to their success as they scored 14 points off turnovers. The score tied four times throughout the game, but once CSUSB took the lead they never gave it back winning the game, 59-56.
Leading the Yotes in points was
Jaida Jackson who scored 18 points, and had four rebounds and three assists.
Tatianna Russell added 13 points to the scoreboard and had seven rebounds.
Mia Dufresne collected another double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and one block.
"I'm proud of how we stuck to our game plan from beginning to end and it paid off" said coach
Casandra Renno. "We didn't give up and made big plays down the stretch."
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Thursday, February 24
