SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Yotes hosted the CSU East Bay Pioneers for the second day of their series. CSUSB split the doubleheader 1-1, closing the series 2-2.
In the first game, the leading pitcher for the Yotes was
Sofia Gombos who pitched four innings collecting two strikeouts.
Ameyalli Ibarra was the first Yote to hit a homerun in 2022 on the CSUSB Softball Park. Both
Shannon Galliano and
Alyssa Beck connected on two hits. Galliano added a double to her stat sheet for an RBI. Pitcher
Brooklyn Blackmon came in the last inning and sealed the Yotes victory, 8-7.
The second game the Pioneers created a 7-0 lead in the first inning. CSUSB connected for seven hits and three RBI's but it would not be enough as Cal State East Bay took the victory, 14-7. The Yotes series with the Pioneers closed, 2-2.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader against Chico State on Friday, February 25
