CARSON, Calif. – The CSUSB women's basketball team dropped their Sunday game against Cal State Dominguez Hills, falling to 6-3 on the season while the Toros improve to a perfect 8-0 – setting a record for the best start in their program's history. The CSUDH women's basketball ream received votes in the latest national poll and is likely to break into the Top 25 this coming week. Despite winning five of their last seven games, the Yotes now fall to 2-2 in CCAA play.
Â
CSUSB's leading scorers,

Destiny recorded her seventh double-digit performance of the season with 14 points, while Jaida recorded her fifth double-digit performance of the season and tied her second-highest career total with 17 points. Together the two also lead the Yotes in scoring on the season with 111 points and 79 points, respectively.
Â
Jaida Jackson and
Samantha Henley were dynamic in other areas on the court, combining for eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.
Â
The Toros blitzed the Yotes out of the gate, taking a 28-16 lead in the first quarter. CSUSB battled back in the middle of the second quarter, narrowing the lead to just five points at 31-26 with 7:07 on the clock. However, the talented Toros squad immediately went on a 20-2 run to close out the first half, giving them some much needed separation.
