SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB women's volleyball defeated San Francisco State on Saturday night, pulling off an incredible comeback in the fifth set to finish the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record at home. The Yotes have now completed SIX consecutive seasons going undefeated at home in the regular season. In fact, their last regular season home loss was to UC San Diego on September 15
th, 2015. In total, the Yotes have won 65 consecutive regular season games at home.
The Yotes finish the regular season with a 20-5 overall record, marking the 25
th consecutive season that they have eclipsed the 20-win mark in a season – all of which have been under the leadership of head coach
Kim Cherniss.

Lydia Morohunfola, #8
Asia Clarke, and #24
Melissa Garciglia – each of whom have contributed to a CCAA championship or a national championship.
The Comeback
The Yotes and the Gators provided the sold-out crowd on Saturday night with the game of the season. CSUSB took the first set 25-19, then dropped the second and third sets 28-26 and 25-19. However, the Yotes fought back to take the fourth and fifth sets by scores of 25-19 and 19-17. With the win, the Yotes collect their 10
th consecutive victory against the Gators.
The night was capped by an epic comeback from the Yotes in the fifth set. After falling behind 10-3, the Yotes kicked it into high gear to go on a 16-7 run to take the Gators into extras and claim the victory. The kill shot came from
Abbey Clarke, who collected a service ace for the final point of the match.
With the loss, San Francisco State falls to 14-11 and is eliminated from playoff contention.
