SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The CSUSB women's basketball team defeated Biola on Saturday afternoon by a score of 65-54, improving their overall record to 3-1 on the season. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 0-4 to start the 2022-23 season.
Redshirt junior
Destiny Jackson recorded a double-double in the game, the third time she has done so during her time as CSUSB. The Hayward, CA native led the Yotes with both 15 points scored and 10 rebounds.
Graduate student
Gabby Stoll nearly had a double-double herself, scoring nine points with 10 rebounds in the game. Stoll was also a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe with two steals and an assist.
Guard
Jaida Jackson and forward
Mia Dufresne also played a big role in the win, scoring 13 and 12 points respectively. Jackson went 2-for-5 beyond the arc with five assists and five rebounds.
Despite the Eagles narrowing the lead to just three with 2:54 on the clock, the Yotes were able to go on an 11-3 run to put the game out of reach in the final minute. One of the key shots came from
Nina Wallace, who drained a three with 50 seconds left in the game to put the Yotes up by seven - a lead they would hold on to for their third win of the season.
