Streak Snapped, No. 15 Yotes Take Down No. 17 Broncos

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB women's volleyball team defeated No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona on Friday night, snapping the Broncos' 14-game win streak. With the win, the Yotes improve to 13-3 on the season with a 7-2 record in CCAA play. Friday night was also CPP's first conference loss of the season as they're now tied with Cal State Los Angeles for first place with an 8-1 conference record. The Yotes trail just behind in second place with a 7-2 conference record.

The two nationally-ranked rivals did not disappoint on Friday night in front of a crowd of over 300. After winning the first two sets, the Yotes struggled to close the win in the third and fourth sets. Then in the fifth, the Yotes regained the momentum to secure the victory. The final scores for the five sets were 25-19, 25-17, 18-25, 21-25, and 15-11.

Sophomore Ashley Robinson recorded a career-high 17 kills against the Broncos. This was her eighth game of the season collecting 10 or more kills in a match and she currently leads the Yotes with 147 kills on the season. Savannah Hoffman also recorded 12 kills against CPP, bringing her season total to the second-most on the team at 133.

Reigning CCAA Setter of the Week Marlee Nunley racked up 39 assists, tying her second-most of the season. The Murrieta native ranks fourth in the CCAA in both total assists (494) and assists per set (7.72).

Five different Yotes recorded double-digit digs, including Nunley, Robinson, Makena Overbey, Asia Clarke, and Abbey Clarke. The Yotes were able to keep multiple rallies alive, which aided them later in the match and helped propel them to the win.
