Yotes Tie Gators in the Bay

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The CSUSB men's soccer team tied with San Francisco State on Sunday afternoon with the game finishing at an even 1-1 score. The Yotes earned their seventh tie of the season against the Gators, tying the 2012 season (5-5-7) for most in program history.

The Yotes once again outshot their opponents in the match, this time taking 13 shots to SFSU's eight. Nicklaus Sullivan and Brian Castillo combined for nine of the team's shots.

The Gators gained the lead in the 17th minute and would hold on to it for the entire first half. However, the Yotes came out of halftime and evened the score just one minute into the second half. This came from a penalty kick goal by Paul Iniguez, his second goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Mark Gamez earned the start in goal, his first start of the season. The sophomore out of Montebello recorded one save while allowing the one goal in the game.
