ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The CSUSB women's soccer team fell to Sonoma State on Friday afternoon by a score of 2-1. The Yotes now hold a 7-6-2 record on the season with a 3-4-2 record in conference play, placing them 7
th in the CCAA standings.
Both teams featured an even attack, each taking 14 total shots in the game. Of the Yotes' 14 shots, only three made it on goal.
Sonoma State took a quick lead with a goal in the 8
th minute of the game. They held that 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first half, while also outshooting the Yotes 10 to five. The Seawolves added to their lead with a goal in the 63
rd minute, putting them up 2-0.
CSUSB responded with a goal of their own in the 74
th minute when
Nathaly Losada Lucumi scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season, with
Rebekka Bogan earning the assist on the play. The comeback fell short, however, as the game would conclude with a final score of 2-1.
