ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The CSUSB men's soccer team fell to Sonoma State on Friday afternoon, losing by a score of 2-0. With the loss, the Yotes fall to 5-4-6 on the season with a 1-4-4 record in CCAA play.
Despite being outscored in the game, the Yotes outshot the Seawolves 17 to 10, with eight of those shots being on goal.
Paul Iniguez,
Nicklaus Sullivan, and
Isaac Balderrama led the offense, combining for 10 of the Yotes' shots in the game.
The Seawolves scored their first goal of the game in the 13
th minute. They maintained the lead through the remainder of the first half, then added some insurance in the 67
th minute with their second goal. The Yotes saw multiple opportunities to score in the final 23 minutes of the game, including a stretch from the 67
th minute to the 77
th minute where they attempted six shots, four of which were saved by the SSU goalkeeper. Sonoma State's two goal lead would prove to be enough to take home the 2-0 win.
