CHICO, Calif. – The nationally-ranked CSUSB women's volleyball team swept Chico State on Friday night, improving to 15-3 on the season and extending their winning streak to six matches. The Yotes' 9-2 CCAA record places them tied for second in the conference with Cal Poly Pomona, with both schools sitting just one game behind Cal State Los Angeles (10-1).
The Yotes have now won nine straight matches against Chico State, dating back to 2016. Furthermore, CSUSB has swept the Wildcats in their last six consecutive matches. Friday night was no different, as the Yotes owned all three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-23.
CCAA Setter of the Week
Marlee Nunley recorded 27 assists, seven digs, and five kills with a .500 hitting percentage. Nunley now ranks third in the conference with 570 total assists on the season.
Lydia Morohunfola,
Ashley Robinson, and
Savannah Hoffman led the attack against Chico State, combining for 28 of the Yotes' 39 kills in the match. Morohunfola also came up big at the net, leading the team with five blocks.
Reigning CCAA Defensive Player of the Week
Makena Overbey also recorded 16 digs en route to helping the Yotes earn the sweep.
