SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Heading into this match the Yotes had an overall record of 11-13 against the CSUDH. The Toros grabbed the lead quickly, but CSUSB fought every second of the game taking a 15 point CSUDH lead down to three points. Ultimately the Toros took the win, 65-62.
The first half of the game the Yotes battled it out with the Toros on the boards as they collected 23 rebounds against Cal State Dominguez Hills 22 rebounds. CSUSB scored 10 of their first half points from the paint and scored six second chance points. The Yotes defense put the pressure on CSUDH forcing 10 turnovers with seven steals.
The Toros scored big from the three-point line, hitting four of eight for 50 percent. CSUDH held the lead for the entire first half, at one point their largest lead was 15 points. CSUSB chipped away some of the lead in the last minutes of the second quarter with
Samantha Henley finding her teammates for three assists back-to-back. The Toros held the lead at the close of the second quarter, 30-22.
In the second half, Cal State Dominguez switched to a full court press. After a few laps up and down the floor the Yotes used it to their advantage.

Tori Guzman hit back-to-back three-point shots off of the press break taking the Toros lead to down to 58-54.
With 43.8 seconds left on the game the Yotes were down by one point with the score 62-63. CSUDH had position and were going to inbound the ball. CSUSB smothered the Toros and forced a time out by the CSUDH coach. The Toros hit a shot in the paint that would expand their lead and take the win, 65-62.

Mia Dufresne had a big night collecting 14 points, three blocks, and eight rebounds.
Destiny Jackson also scored double-digits with 12 points, three steals, and four rebounds.
Mia Finnie added 10 points, four rebounds, and went four for five in field goals.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Thursday, February 3
