SAN DIEGO – The CSUSB Yotes picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon at Point Loma, 2-1.
The Yotes fell behind in the first half, but
Kevin Aguilar tied the match in the 63
rd minute on an assist from
Coby Atkinson. Two minutes later
Gerardo Flores scored the game-winner on an assist from
Francisco Sierra.
"Today was a good test for the group. We faced some adversity and the team responded well," head coach
Josh Hill said. "Each week we are finding out more about each other and we are excited to keep moving forward. It's a big week ahead but I am proud of the team and how they responded on the road."
The Yotes led in shots 11-6 and 6-5 in shots on goal. Three of Aguilar's four shots came on goal. The Yotes 1-0-1 will host Biola on Wednesday at Premier Field in their home opener at 2 pm. Live stats are on CSUSBAthletics.com.
