SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Going into the match the Yotes held a 7-13 record against the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros. The standings for the CCAA in men's soccer was shaken up after CSUSB took the win in the last minutes of the match.
In the first half both teams defensive side kept the shot attempts low.
Tony Di Donato,
Andres Aguirre,
Rigo Aguilar,
Juan Larios, and
Neil Gillies held the Toros to only two shot attempts. Goalkeeper
Juan Nieves had two saves on the half. The score was 0-0, going into the second half.
The second half would be similar to the first. Defense for both teams was hard to pass and shots were not available on either end. It was until the 87
th minute, Di Donato hit as shot off of an assist by
Rigo Aguilar. Three minutes would not be enough time for the Toros to score. The Yotes took their thirds straight win, 1-0.
The CCAA standings were greatly affected by the results of today's match. After the Yotes downed the Toros, CSUSB moved up one spot. The Yotes went from fourth place in the CCAA standing to third place.
