RIVERSIDE – This past Monday and Tuesday the CSUSB Coyotes hosted their Coyote Classic at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside.
Jetty Sivongsay and
David Marris both finished in 15
th for the Yotes at +10. Sivongsay shot an even-par second round 71 with five birdies in his round. Marris shot a 73 and 72 in his first two rounds with three birdies in each round.
The Yotes finished ninth, just two strokes behind Western Washington and nine strokes out of sixth place. Stanislaus State won the event at +27 by six strokes. Scott Kerr of Simon Fraser and Justin Vrzich of CSU San Marcos tied for the lead at +3 and Kerr won in a six-hole playoff.
CSUSB finished fourth on par-four holes at +35 and Marris was 10
th on par-three holes at +4 and sixth on par-four holes at +3. His 34 pars ranked fourth in the field.
Zach Kauffmann rolled the lone eagle for CSUSB.
Next up for the Yotes is the NDNU Invitational, at Poppy Ridge Golf Club in Livermore, March 9-10.
