SAN BERNARDINO – The No. 2 CSUSB Coyotes defeated Biola 3-1 in the nightcap of the D2 West Region Showcase at CSUSB on Friday night. 

The Yotes dominated sets one, three, and four from start to finish, 25-15, 25-15, 25-14.  They fell behind in set two, but almost came back to steal it, 23-25.  CSUSB hit an impressive .264 and held Biola to .081, as Alexis Cardoza had 18 kills, Sascha Dominique had 15 hitting .429, and Stephanie Doak was also in double figures with 10. 

The Yotes served six aces, led by three from Marlee Nunley, who had 27 assists to Mehanna Ma'a's 23.  Cardoza and Leilia To'omalatai had 16 digs each.

"We could have executed better on our half, but we used the timeouts later in the match to take advantage of those chances," Dominique said.

The Coyotes will finish up the showcase tomorrow at 5 pm against Point Loma.  Live links are CSUSBathletics.com.
