SAN BERNARDINO – The No. 1 CSUSB Coyotes celebrated Senior Night by capping a perfect 24-0 regular-season with a 3-0 win over Stanislaus State.
The Yotes moved quickly through sets one and two, 25-9 and 25-14, after celebrating seniors
Sascha Dominique,
Moira Murphy, and
Stephanie Doak pregame. Set three was tighter but CSUSB eventually pulled away 25-17.
The Yotes spread the love with 10 different players having kills and eight having three or more.
Alexis Cardoza and Doak each had eight. The Yotes hit .327 as a team as Stanislaus hit the zero mark. The Coyotes really made their mark at the net with 10 blocks to one for the Warriors.
Jalyn Hayes had seven block assists to lead the way.
The Yotes posted a perfect regular-season record for the first time since 2011.
"Going undefeated in our regular-season was a goal of ours but not something we talked about every day," Dominique said. "We took it game by game and still have a lot of goals left to accomplish."
One of those goals would be a CCAA Tournament TItle, which CSUSB will host starting next Thursday. The top-seeded Coyotes will play the eighth-seed at 7:30 pm that night. Check CSUSBathletics.com for all the updates.
