SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The No. 14 CSUSB Coyotes tied visiting CSUMB on Friday afternoon, 0-0, in double overtime.
The Yotes had trouble finding an offensive avenue, trailing in shots on goal 3-5, but
Frank Daroma did put a shot off the cross bar in the first half and
Pedro Arellano had a shot sail high late in the second overtime.
The Yotes played the final 38 minutes a man up, but CSUMB sat down on defense and earned the draw.
Jacob Huber made four saves in goal for CSUSB.
"We have had a little bit of a dip in form since the LA game and we have not been playing with the same high level of energy we had in the early part of the season," head coach
Darren Leslie said. "My biggest frustration today was that we did not match CSUMB's willingness to run and compete all over the field. I felt we were outworked for long spells which made it hard to get on the ball and find rhythm. Again, we were wasteful when our chances did come and we must improve in front of the goal as we head towards the business end of the season."
The Coyotes will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday for an 11:30 am match against CSU East Bay. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
