SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The No. 14 CSUSB Coyotes had a nice bounce-back performance on Senior Day, as defeated visiting Cal State East Bay 3-0 on Sunday morning.
The game went to the half 0-0, but the Yotes' attack broke out in the second half with
Pedro Arellano scoring his fifth of the season just four minutes into the half as he finished a connection from
Jose Politron and
Frank Daroma.
It was Politron who finished a nice cross from Daroma in the 66
th minute and senior
Joseph Hollimon got his first of the year in the 88
th minute when he took a turnover and beat the keeper for the goal.
The Yotes, who led in shots, 18-2, celebrated seniors Hollimon,
Jesus Ortega,
Jonathan Garcia,
Jacob Huber, and
Brandon Sangbarani.
"It feels great to get a win today in front of all our families and friends," Sangbarani said.
"It's been a lot of fun," Huber said. "We are looking to go out with a bang this season."
The Yotes will travel to Sonoma State in their final regular-season match next Saturday at 11:30 am, before potentially hosting a CCAA Playoff game on November 12.
