SAN FRANCISCO – The No. 1 CSUSB Coyotes took their 15
th-straight set win in a 3-0 win at San Francisco State on Saturday night.
Alexis Cardoza and
Stephanie Doak were on the attack again with 17 and 11 kills respectively, as
Lydia Morohunfola added eight. Cardoza had another double-double as she added 11 digs, a category
Leilia To'omalatai led with 17.
The Yotes took set one and two, 25-21, and set three, 25-22. The Yotes offense was clicking as they hit .349, and led in blocks 14-6, with Morohunfola getting four and
Jalyn Hayes blocking three. Cardoza was unstoppable, hitting .400 and Doak hit .348.
Mehana Ma'a sent out 17 assists and
Marlee Nunley had 16.
"We are so happy to come away with a weekend sweep on the road," head coach
Kim Cherniss said. "SFSU served pretty tough and I am extremely proud of our team for keeping their composure and still keeping our team on track to attack at a very high hitting efficiency percentage. Alexis and Stephanie were fantastic attacking tonight, really showing a wide range of shots throughout the match. Mehana and Marley also did a great job getting us some really good swings in out of system situations."
