SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The CSU San Bernardino men's soccer team downed Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday afternoon at Premier Field with a flurry of second-half goals.
Daniel Ortiz scored off Jeronimo Valdepena's through ball in the 32nd minute as he found the left side for the early lead. The Coyotes took that lead into halftime. NDNU squared the match in the 53rd minute, but CSUSB responded just two minutes later when
Brandon Sangbarani finished an athletic header from Valdepena's volley.
The Coyotes were off and running from there, as Daniel Ortiz pounded home the penalty kick in the 60th minute and then found
Fabian Roman in the box with a slip pass in the 81st minute to cap the 4-1 win.
CSUSB attacked all match, leading in shots 20-7, and
Jacob Huber made three saves for the Coyotes.
CSU San Bernardino moved to 2-2 on the season and remain at home on Sunday as they face Concordia at 12 pm at Premier Field. Live stats are available at csusbathletics.com.
