Yotes Tie CSULA On The Road

Will host SFSU in CCAA Quarterfinals on Tuesday

LOS ANGELES – The CSUSB Coyotes secured a home playoff match with a 0-0 tie at Cal State LA on Saturday afternoon.

The Coyotes will host San Francisco State at Premier Field on Tuesday at 2 pm in the CCAA Championship Quarterfinals.

On Saturday, the Golden Eagles held a slight edge in shots on goal, 8-6.  Jacob Huber sent those eight shots back though and secured his second-straight shutout.

Cesar Figueroa missed high late in regulation and Steve Loera had a header saved in overtime.  The Coyotes almost took the win with a minute left in double overtime as Omari Mark's shot bounced off the post.

"As far as 0-0 ties go, you won't see many more entertaining ones then today's game," head coach Darren Leslie said.  "Both teams will feel that they did enough to win the match, and both are probably a little disappointed to walk away without three points.  We have a tough game now against SFSU and need to recover from today to be ready to do what is necessary to be ready to get to San Diego."

The Coyotes will host San Francisco State on Tuesday with live stats available on csusbathletics.com.
