SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The No. 3 CSUSB Coyotes headed into Homecoming 2018 and Senior Night in style on Friday night, sweeping CSU Dominguez Hills 3-0 inside Coussoulis Arena, one night ahead of the aforementioned festivities.

Alexis Cardoza led the charge with 13 kills, hitting .440 with just two errors.  Asia Clarke started fast and ended with nine kills.  Mikaela Grove had seven and Jayann DeHoog dished 37 assists. 

The first set was close throughout with each team answering the other's runs.  Late kills from Clarke and Cardoza sealed the 25-23 win for the Yotes.  An 8-1 run in the second set gave CSUSB breathing room with Cardoza grabbing three kills and a block in that stretch.  CSUSB took it 25-13.  Head coach Kim Cherniss fully utilized her bench in set three and they kept the momentum going, taking it 25-16.  Senior DeHoog reflected on enjoying every moment after the game as she headed into Senior Night.

"I am trying to enjoy every moment I have in this arena," DeHoog said.  "This has been my home for four years and I am going to go out there and enjoy it with my team."

The Coyotes led on Friday night in blocks, 7-3, and digs, 59-48.  They hit .333 with 45 kills and just 10 errors, including none in set two. 

CSUSB (21-2, 14-1 CCAA) will face No. 9 CSULA tomorrow night at 7 pm.  Attendance is free and live video links are available on csusbathletics.com.
