No. 24 Coyotes produce with efficiency

SAN BERNARDINO (Sept. 30, 2017) — The 24th-ranked Coyotes have played four home matches in the last two week, and Saturday night they picked up third fourth straight 3-0 win in their CCAA victory over Cal State San Marcos at Coussoulis Arena.
 
What the victory means
With their fourth straight win, the Coyotes improved to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in the CCAA. The Cougars are now 6-7, 3-2.
 
What happened?
CSUSB hit an efficient .308 on the night, and also forced the Cougars into 29 attack errors in the 25-12, 25-14, 25-11 victory. After a first set that featured three ties and two lead changes, the Coyotes never trailed in either the second or third set.
 
Steadiness all the way around
Junior MB Hailey Jackson and senior OH Lauren Nicholson each had nine kills and freshman Alexis Cardoza added eight … At the setter positon, junior Jayann DeHoog led with 18 assists and three service acecs and junior Hannah Barrett added 11 with two service aces … Freshman L Leilia To'omalatai had 12 digs with DeHoog 10 and both Nicholson and Cardoza with nine each … Jackson led on the block with six block assists, and Cardoza had four.
 
What's next?
CSUSB returns to the road on Wednesday night against Cal Poly Pomona.

"It was probably one of our more efficient performances of the year,'' head coach Kim Cherniss said. "We really did a good job as a team in the serve and pass part of the game. Hailey was superb, both on the attack and the block. She was a force tonight. Alexis also had a great night. She is such a complete player.''
