CSUSB stopped 3-1 vs. CSUDH

SAN BERNARDINO (Sept. 17, 2017) — Danny Ortiz scored his third goal of the season in Sunday's game against visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills, but it wasn't enough in a 3-1 loss at Premier Field.

Ortiz on the day
Ortiz answered in the 30th minute when just minutes before he missed on nearly an identical shot. Thanks to a feed from Kevin Aguilar, Ortiz forced Toros' GK Benito Gonzalez out of the box and the shot was a no-doubter.

Coach says
Today it hurt, no question about it,'' head coach Darren Leslie said. "I felt like we were the better team for long stretches and created three or four clear-cut chances with the score tied at 1-1 and when we trailed 2-1. Failure to execute at key moments, coupled with some defensive errors has cost us again. We must learn from these mistakes if we are to push on and compete for a postseason berth. We have a young, enthusiastic group and I know we will get right reaction heading into a big weekend at home.''
