LA JOLLA (May 6, 2017) — An eight-run outburst in the eighth inning gave CSUSB an 11-3 victory in the season finale Saturday afternoon at UC San Diego.
The Coyotes closed the season 15-35 overall and 12-26 CCAA.
Breaking out the bats
After giving up 55 runs in the first three games of the series, the Coyotes took out some frustration in the second game Saturday. CSUSB sent 13 batters to the plate in the six-hit inning.
Tyler Robles got it going with an RBI-single.
David Alonzo followed with an RBI on an error to the first baseman, and
Kristian DeLaTorre added a two-run double and CSUSB led 7-3.
Damion Edmonds followed on a two-run single. Three batters later,
Austin Lundeen connected on a two-run double and CSUSB led 11-3.
Another big hit
Freshman
Dominic Campeau put the Coyotes on the board with a two-run home run over the right-field wall in the first.
Multiple RBI
Edmonds, Campeau, Lundeen, and DeLaTorre all had two RBI. Campeau and
Jon Ferrendelli had two hits.

Brian Conley improved to 3-1 in four innings of relief. He had five strikeouts and gave up just one hit without a walk.

UCSD took the opener, 20-1.
