CSUSB takes 3 of 4 from CSUSM

SAN MARCOS (April 30, 2017)  — The Coyotes capped their most successful weekend of 2017, winning their four-game series against Cal State San Marcos with Sunday's 9-6 victory in CCAA baseball.

What does the victory mean?
CSUSB improves to 14-32 overall and 11-23 in the CCAA.

Who stood out?
Freshman Dominic Campeau went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. He had two extra-base hits — a solo home run in the second and a double in the fifth.

What was the turning point?
Trailing 5-3 through six innings, the Coyotes struck with a six-run, four-hit seventh for control. Having scored five runs with Damion Edmonds at bat, the senior delivered a double down the right-field line to score freshman Eli Zaragoza for the sixth and final run for CSUSB.

Lots of action on the hill
The Coyotes had seven pitchers on the hill, with Matthew Moriarty (2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO) on the start. Dylan Stablein took the mound in the sixth and gave up a hit with one walk. He faced four batters and earned the win after CSUSB had its six-run seventh. He improved to 2-0 on the year.

Brian Conley came on in the ninth inning and secured his fourth save of the season. He faced four batters.
