HAYWARD (March 18, 2017) — The Coyotes took command in their opener against Cal State East Bay, scoring six runs in the fifth inning in their 10-1 win over the Pioneers in CCAA baseball.
The Coyotes, who lost the second game 6-4, take their 6-17 overall record and 5-9 CCAA slate into Sunday's series finale. CSUEB is 14-9, 6-5.

Sabino Ramirez earned the victory in six innings of work and reliever
Noah Simon needed just 21 pitches and retired all nine batters for the save.
Lucas Martinez' two-run double keyed a three-run third before the Coyotes broke the game open in the sixth.
The Coyotes took advantage with just three hits with
Tyler Robles securing a two-run single.
Dominic Campeau went 3-for-5 and
Eli Zaragoza had two hits.
Dillon Fahr and Campeau each doubled.
Game 2: CSUEB 6, Coyotes 4
Campeau added a double in the second and the Coyotes fought back to tie the game at 3-3 in their half of the seventh.
But the Pioneers answered with two of their own in the seventh and held on for the win.
