AZUSA (Feb. 8, 2017) — Lucas Martinez connected on his first home run of the season in the Coyotes' 15-4 loss to Azusa Pacific in nonconference baseball Wednesday afternoon,
CSUSB (0-5) and the Cougars resume their series at 3 p.m. today in a 9 and 7-inning doubleheader at Azusa.
Martinez' home run cut the Coyotes' deficit to 2-1 before APU scored four runs in the fourth.
Kristian DeLaTorre earned an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
APU secured the win with a nine-run seventh.
Damion Edmonds added a double.
Tyler Van Marter and Austin Lundeed accounted for the Coyotes' other four hits.

Jon Ferrendelli threw four innings and took the loss. He struck out eight, but allowed 11 hits and gave up six runs — all earned.
