SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 24, 2017) — The Coyotes shook aside their nine-game losing streak with an impressive 10-run, 15 at-bat, eight-hit inning in their 13-3 victory over Cal State L.A. on Friday night in CCAA baseball.
CSUSB (1-9, 1-1 CCAA) and the Golden Eagles (8-4, 1-1) resume their weekend series with a doubleheader Saturday at Fiscalini Field. First pitch is 11 a.m.
Freshman
Dominic Campeau led the Coyotes with a 3-for-5 effort with a two-run home run, two singles and four RBI.
A.J. Duran went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Dillon Fahr had two singles and
Daniel Romo had two RBI.
Duran put the Coyotes on the scoreboard in the second, thanks to his two-out, run-scoring double that scored
Kristian DeLaTorre (walk).
Romo, Campeau and DeLaTorre each had run-scoring singles in the third, and Duran extended the lead to 6-0 with just one out.
Fahr had an RBI on the inning (single), and Romo earned his second RBI of the inning on a double down the left-field line. Campeau followed suit with another RBI, this time on a single to left.
Campeau ended the scoring when he ripped a two-run HR to right center and the Coyotes led 13-1.
Sabino Ramirez earnd the victory with two-run ball over 7 innings. He struck out six and walked one.
Garret Christiansen struck out four in 2 innings of relief.
