SAN BERNARDINO (Nov. 3, 2017) — A stellar .397 attack percentage explained CSUSB's successful four-set win over Cal State LA on Friday night at Coussoulis Arena.
 
The record
CSUSB stretched its home winning streak to 28 consecutive matches as it is 16-7 overall and 12-3 in the CCAA in its 25-22 25-12, 22-25, 25-14 win. The victory, its fifth straight, also secured a CCAA Tournament berth for the third time in as many years as the tourney has existed. CSULA dropped to 12-10, 8-6.
 
Automatic 20
Senior outside hitter Lauren Nicholson led the Coyotes with a match-high 20 kills and a .354 attack percentage. It was her fourth 20-kill match in the last five and seventh in 2017.
 
About the fourth set
CSUSB was 100 percent on sideouts in the final set — 14 of 14. The Coyotes finished 72 percent for the match (54 of 74).
 
Ace high
Freshman Alexis Cardoza delivered three service aces. Her 36 aces for the season are the ninth best in school history.
 
About tomorrow night
CSUSB plays host to Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday night for Senior Night. CSUSB salutes Morgan Lyneis, Nicholson, Kelsey Osgood and Amanda Reifer in a prematch ceremony.
