IRVINE (Sept. 10, 2016) — Reserve
Keo Ponce came off the bench and delivered both CSUSB goals in the Coyotes' 2-1 victory over Concordia Irvine in nonconference soccer Saturday afternoon.
CSUSB (2-1 overall) begins its CCAA season this coming week with games at Humboldt State and Sonoma State on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Ponce answered the call in the first half, connecting on a pass from
Christian Vega in the 36
th minute of play for a 1-0 CSUSB lead. CUI tied the game with five-plus minutes remaining in the half and the teams were tied at 1-1 at halftime.
Ponce remained in the lineup to start the second half and he produced again. He positioned himself near the net and headed in a corner pass from
Eric Lavery that went upper left corner for the deciding goal.
The Coyotes totaled 13 shots with nine SOG against the Eagles, now 1-1-1. They had three shots in the first half and 10 in the second.

Jacob Huber improved his record to 2-1 with three saves.
Senior
Marco Carrillo-Leon led the Coyotes with four shots – all on goal.
