HAYWARD (Nov. 5, 2016) — No. 17 CSUSB neared ever closer at securing the top seed in the CCAA South Division on Saturday in its 3-0 win over host Cal State East Bay.
The Coyotes (19-4, 13-2 CCAA), who have a 10-match winning streak, hold a two-match lead over second-place Cal State L.A. entering the final weekend of play. CSUSB takes on Sonoma State (14-9, 12-4) before closing out the regular season against San Francisco State, which has lost its last 20 matches and is winless in CCAA play.

Malika O'Brien led with nine kills and sophomore middle blocker
Hailey Jackson had five blocks with seven kills in the 25-22, 25-22, 25-17 victory over the Pioneers (12-12, 8-8). CSUSB hit only .197 on the night, but used 25 Pioneers' attack errors to its advantage in the victory.
Freshman
Jayann DeHoog had 27 assists and Jackson had the only two service aces for the Coyotes.
Kaili Scott led in solo blocks with two and senior libero
Abbey Vollkommer had 18 digs. DeHoog had 13 digs, followed by O'Brien (11) and
Hannah Barrett (10).
