LOS ANGELES (Oct. 23, 2016) — The Coyotes struggled on the offensive end in Sunday's game at Cal State L.A., offering just one shot on goal in a 1-0 loss to the Golden Eagles in CCAA play.
The loss puts CSUSB at 7-5-1 overall, 5-4-1 CCAA heading into the final week of conference play. The Coyotes take on conference-leading UC San Diego on Thursday in a veritable must-win for a conference postseason berth before closing out the regular season Saturday against Cal State San Marcos for Senior Day.
Hakon Laugsand sent a header into the net in the 71
st minute of play for the deciding goal for CSULA (8-4-3, 6-4).
Kieron Coleman supplied the Coyotes' SOG, a header in the 84
th minute. The Coyotes fired off five shots in the final six minutes, but Coleman's was the only one on target.
