CHICO (Oct. 1, 2016) – A long-standing winning streak came to an end Saturday night in No. 17 Cal State San Bernardino's 3-0 loss against Chico State.
 
The Coyotes had their 41-match winning streak end in the 25-17, 25-13, 25-22 Wildcats' victory. CSUSB dropped to 9-4 overall, 3-2 CCAA and Chico State is 10-4, 4-1. Chico State last defeated the Coyotes on Sept. 23, 1995.
 
CSUSB never led in either of the first two sets. Amy Armstrong had consecutive kills that gave CSUSB a 12-11 lead in the third, but the Wildcats scored six straight points and remained out front for the duration.
 
Lauren Nicholson had nine kills, Jayann DeHoog had 23 assists, and Abbey Vollkommer had nine digs.
 
CSUSB next competes Saturday night at Cal Poly Pomona.
