POMONA (Oct. 8, 2016) — No. 19 Cal State San Bernardino hit .344 with only eight attack errors in rolling past host Cal Poly Pomona 3-0 in CCAA volleyball Saturday night at Kellogg Gym.

Malika O'Brien (13) and junior OH 
Lauren Nicholson (12) combined on 25 of the Coyotes' 39 kills in the 25-14, 25-22, 25-19 victory over the Broncos. CSUSB improved to 10-4, 4-2 CCAA and CPP dropped to 4-11, 0-6.
 
CSUSB took the lead for good in the opening set at 3-2 and went on to post a whopping .467 attack percentage (15-1-30). In the second CSUSB jumped to a 7-1 lead, but CPP mounted a comeback late.
 
CSUSB led 22-16 before CPP strung together a 5-0 run to pull within a point. Two straight ball-handling errors by the Broncos put CSUSB back in control before it closed out the win on a kill from 
Hailey Jackson.
 
CSUSB hit .324 in the final set (13-2-34) in the third and handed CPP its sixth consecutive CCAA loss.
 
Senior 
Abbey Vollkommer fired off five service aces, and 
Jayann DeHoog handed out 33 assists. Freshman 
Amy Armstrong had five blocks, and Vollkommer led in digs with 13.
 
CSUSB returns to Coussoulis Arena on Friday night when it begins a five-match homestand, beginning against UC San Diego.
