Lauren Nicholson picked up the pace for No. 17 Cal State San Bernardino with a match-high 23 kills in the Coyotes' 3-2 win over host Stanislaus State on Friday night in CCAA volleyball.
The Coyotes, now 9-3 overall and 3-1 CCAA, complete the weekend tomorrow night at Chico State.
CSUSB was pushed in its 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 11-25 15-13 win. In sets two and three, the Coyotes hit .324 and .484, respectively. But in the opener and fourth, hit .167 and .030.
Down 10-7 in the fifth, a Nicholson kill, a Warrior attack error and a kill from
Kaili Scott tied the set at 10.
The set was tie three times before Nicholson again came through with a kill for a 14-13 lead. Then for good measure, she nailed another for the set and match win.

Malika O'Brien had 11 kills and freshman Scott 10. Setter
Jayann DeHoog produced 54 assists, and senior libero
Abbey Vollkommer had 30 digs.
Stanislaus State (5-8, 2-2) was led by Blair Ehrlich with 19 kills.
