Coyotes lose 5-1 against defending NCAA champions

Box Score ALLENDALE, Mich. (Sept. 11, 2015) — Freshman Denae Verdine continued her streak of factoring on each of the Coyotes' goals this season in CSUSB's 5-1 loss to No. 12 and defending NCAA champion Grand Valley State in nonconference soccer Friday night.
 
CSUSB (1-2-1 overall) completes its trip to Michigan with a game Sunday against Ferris State. Kickoff is 7:30 a.m. Pacific time.
 
Verdine gave the Coyotes' their goal after she recovered a blocked shot with fewer than 18 minutes remaining in the contest.
 
Grand Valley totaled 27 shots to CSUSB's 12 and fired 15 shots on goal at Coyotes' GK Emily Whyte.
 
Melanie Aguayo had four shots with three SOG for the Coyotes and Verdine had three shots.
