Box Score LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 13, 2015) — The Coyotes opened the 2015 Desert Stinger Tournament with an 8-1 loss to Cal State San Marcos in nonconference softball tourney play, hosted by Montana State-Billings.
The Coyotes (3-5) fell to Simon Fraser, 9-7 in their second game.
CSUSB continues tourney play with games against Minot (N.D.) State and Northwest Nazarene.

Nicole Nobbe, who led off with a hit by pitch.
But the Cougars answered with one of their own in the first, then broke the game open with a six-run second inning.
The Coyotes has six hits -- all singles by Lievanos,
Cassandra Williams,
Kaylee Gemmell,
Melissa Roberts,
Alyssa Ramos and
Mary Menicucci.
Williams (3-3) took the loss in two innings pitched. She had two strikeouts.
Simon Fraser 9, Coyotes 7Nobbe led the Coyotes offense with a three-run homer en route to a 4-for-5 day with three extra-base hits, but the Clan came back for the victory.CSUSB sent eight batters to the plate in the second and scored four runs, three courtesy of Nobbe's home run. Mary Menicucci got the inning going with a walk, stolen base and then added another stolen base to score.
Lievanos made the score 5-0 in the fourth on a double to left-center that brought in Nobbe, who doubled.
But Simon Fraser came through with four runs in the fourth and five in the fifth for the victory.
Williams had a two-run double in the fifth and Melissa Roberts also had a double.
