Box Score SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 12, 2015) – It was all about the Coyotes'
Chelsea Barnes and
Alexcia Mack in their game against Chico State on Thursday night.
Barnes scored a game-high 21 points and Mack was right behind with 20 in the Coyotes' 71-52 victory over the Wildcats in a game that CSUSB never trailed and allowed just one tie.
The Barnes and Mack show marked the first time in four seasons in which two Coyotes scored at least 20 points. And both players factored in their teammates scoring as each led with five assists apiece.
The victory puts the Coyotes at 16-5 overall, 12-5 in the CCAA and a game and a half behind third-place Cal Poly Pomona. Chico State fell to 8-13, 5-12.
The turning point on this night occurred with 11 minutes left in the first half and the scored tied at 15-15.
Mack, who had not scored up to that point, scored three straight 3-pointers and totaled 14 points in 3 ½ minutes and put CSUSB up 31-17. Barnes was equally solid in the half with 14 points. She finished the game hitting 9 for 17 and 3 of 3 from the line.
The second half was all Coyotes, who never let the lead dip below 11 points and as large as 28 on a Mack layup with 6:07 remaining and CSUSB up 66-38.

Adriana Brodie had 12 points on 6 of 8 shooting and reserve
Chelsea Austin had nine with four assists.
The Coyotes were dominant in every facet of the game. The outscored the Wildcats 40-20 in the paint and scored 29 points off Chico's 21 turnovers. In fact, CSUSB had 23 assists on 29 field goals with nine of the Coyotes' 10 earning an assist.
CSUSB improved to 13-0 when it scores at least 60 points and 13-0 when they allow fewer than 60.
The Wildcats were led by Hannah Womack with 14.
The Coyotes complete the weekend Saturday at home against Cal State Stanislaus.
