LOS ANGELES (Nov. 3, 2015) —The Coyotes threatened Division I and West Coast Conference member Loyola Marymount before losing 64-59 in exhibition play Tuesday night.
Chelsea Barnes led the Coyotes with 16 points and
Chelsea Austin added 13.
Brianna Harden added 10 and
Alexcia Mack eight as CSUSB outscored the Lions 21-6 on 3-point field goals.
The Coyotes led 59-58 with 3:26 remaining in the game, but missed on their last eight field goal attempts as LMU went on a 6-0 run over the final 1:38 for the five-point victory.
Sophie Bhasin added five off the bench, while
Adriana Brodie had four and
Loli Gomez three.
The Coyotes, who open the regular season Nov. 20 against Simon Fraser, were 21 of 70 from the floor, but outrebounded LMU 45-40. Brodie and Mack each had eight boards.
The game had 11 lead changes and just two ties.
Sophie Taylor led LMU with a game-high 19 points.
