SAN BERNARDINO (Oct. 29, 2015) -- Diego Mendoza scored CSUSB's only goal in its 2-1 double overtime loss to Sonoma State in CCAA men's soccer Thursday afternoon.
The Coyotes, who are 3-9-3, 1-7-3 CCAA) complete the 2015 season Saturday morning when they take on Humboldt State on Senior Day at Coyote Premier Field.
Down 1-0 just seven minutes into the game, the Coyotes totaled 31 shots, but converted just once when senior
Daniel Looker sent in a beautiful header to the right of the SSU net, and Mendoza capitalized with the goal.
It was Mendoza's first on the season.
Senior
Robert Wagner had two key chances early in the first overtime, but SSU GK Mitch North kept the Coyotes from scoring.
SSU then won the game on a goal from TJ Perez in the 105th minute.
Wagner had 10 shots on the day with three SOG.
Tony Lo and
Hieu Ngo each had two SOG.
SSU clinched a CCAA tourney berth and improved to 10-5-2, 6-4-1.
