SAN BERNARDINO (Oct. 18, 2015) — Diego Casillas accounted for the Coyotes' only goal in their 2-1 loss to visiting Chico State in CCAA men's soccer at Coyote Premier Field on Sunday.
The Coyotes, who are now 0-4-3 in their last seven games, take a 3-6-3 overall record and 1-4-3 CCAA slate into this week's contests at San Francisco State (Friday) and Cal State Monterye Bay (Sunday).
Down 1-0 at halftime, CSUSB came back to tie the game at 1-1 in the 50th minute. On a nifty center pass from
Luca Falcone, Casillas gathered the ball and fired a strike past Chico State's Andrew Matthews.
But the Wildcats got the deciding goal in the 76th minute. After a CSUSB foul, Omar Nuno sent the ball into Dylan Wakefield, who went left side for the game winner.
Casillas and Falcone accounted for all four of the Coyotes' shots on goal. Falcone totaled five shots to lead CSUSB and Casillas had three.
CSUSB had eight corners on the afternoon, but could not cash in. Chico State had five.
The Wildcats improved to 5-6-2, 3-4-1.
