Squier, Williams find the net in 2-0 win

Freshman F Ebony Squier scored her first career goal in the 2-0 win over La Verne.
Box Score SAN BERNARDINO (Sept. 11, 2014) — The scoreboard showed a 2-0 CSUSB victory over La Verne, but it was a one-sided affair for the No. 19 Coyotes on Thursday afternoon at Coyote Premier Field.

CSUSB dominated in all facets of the game, keeping the ball on its side of play for more than 35 minutes in the first half on a day with temperatures near 100 degrees.

Freshman Ebony Squier gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead when she found herself wide open in the 29th minute. Junior defender Kiersten Miller worked a pass up close and Squier pounded it in for the tally.

CSUSB out-shot the Leopards 10-1 in the first half and held ULV to just one shot on goal for the game.

Then in the 60th minute, sophomore Paige Kang got the ball at midfield, found Jasmine Williams, who basically went one-on-one and laced a shot from 30 yards out and drove the ball far right.

Both goals were the first on the season for each Coyote.

Sophomore GK Emily Whyte improved to 3-0 with the shutout.

The Coyotes take a 3-0 overall record into Saturday afternoon's West Region game against Dixie State.

La Verne is now 1-2.
