Coyotes drop four at CSUMB

Aaron Beckley had two hits for the Coyotes in the opener.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SEASIDE -- CSUSB completed its weekend series against Cal State Monterey Bay, losing 3-2 in the opener and 4-0 in the nightcap.

CSUMB's Josh Eagle threw a no-hitter against the Coyotes, the first in Otters' history.

CSUSB (12-34 overall, 10-26 CCAA) completes the season this weekend against UC San Diego. The Coyotes play host on Thursday and Friday.

Game 1: CSUMB 3, Coyotes 2

Aaron Owen and Warren Fishback connected on consecutive run-scoring singles that gave CSUSB a 2-1 in the fourth inning.

Starter Tyler Rahier threw six innings and after giving up an earned run in the first, shut out the Otters over his final five innings.

CSUMB gained the lead for good when Morris hit a two-run home run in the seventh off Coyotes' reliever Brian Jipp.

Nick Oddo and Aaron Beckley each had two hits. CSUSB finished with seven.

Game 2: CSUMB 4, Coyotes 0

Eagle was masterful in his no-hitter. He issued just two walks -- one to Nick Massari in the third and the other to Fishback in the fifth. He faced just two batters over the minimum in the seven-inning game.

Coyotes starter Kerry Kelley earned the start and had seven strikeouts.
