SAN BERNARDINO (Dec. 20, 2014) -- Poor shooting cost the 22nd-ranked Coyotes any chance of success in Saturday night's 61-42 loss to Humboldt State in CCAA women's basketball.

The Coyotes shot a season-low 19.6 percent from the floor, and the visiting Lumberjacks took advantage. They received scoring from 10 players with just one in double figures -- Kersey Wilcox's game-high 15 points.

Brianna Harden drained a 3-pointer that put the Coyotes into a one possession game at 23-20 with 6:24 left in the first half. But HSU finished the half on an 11-2 run capped by Neika Puryear's 3-pointer that bounced high off the iron and dropped through at the horn for its 34-22 halftime lead.

The Lumberjacks showed their control with a 14-5 run to begin the half and the Coyotes never got closer than 15 points for the remainder of the game.

CSUSB (6-2, 2-2 CCAA) had only four field goals in the final 20 minutes and finished with 11 on the night.

Harden led the Coyotes with 13 points and 11 rebounds for her sixth double-double in just eight games. Chelsea Barnes had 11.

The Coyotes are now off for the remainder of the month and resume play on New Year's Day when they play host to Cal State L.A.

HSU (8-1, 4-0) outscored the Coyotes 34-16 in the paint.
